Marion County Sheriff's Office Techs Receive EVT Certificates
MARION COUNTY, FL – The Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification Commission awarded five members of the Marion County Sheriff's Office the first-ever certificates for becoming certified law enforcement technicians.
MARION COUNTY, FL – The Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification Commission awarded five members of the Marion County Sheriff's Office the first-ever certificates for becoming certified law enforcement technicians. The recipients were Johnny Mennenga, Jeff Watson, Jim Howard and Jim Head from the Fleet Management Division, and Joe Shea from the Radio Maintenance Division.
The objectives and test questions were designed to increase the safety and to strengthen the integrity of law enforcement vehicles by promoting sound equipment installation practices and procedures. Candidates must pass six Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exams, the EVT exam, and have two years of verifiable experience.
The EVT Commission also administers exams for fire apparatus and ambulance technicians and is the only nationally recognized certifying body in the industry. ASE exams are given by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, which is the only nationally recognized certifying body for automotive technicians.
