Peter Bednar has taken a new position as the fleet management director for the City of Albany, Ga. Bednar worked for Ventura County in California for more than three years and under his leadership, his fleet team has been recognized with several awards, including placing first in the Top 100 Best Fleets in North America and being one of the Leading Fleets by Government Fleet Magazine.

At the City of Albany, Bednar will be in charge of building a new centralized shop that will combine three shops under one roof. This shop will also be modernized to be CNG-compatible for the current transit fleet. The 24-bay facility, which will house about 30 staff members, will be used to maintain 1,000+ vehicles and pieces of equipment, including transit buses, police cars, fire trucks, sewer vacuum trucks, bucket trucks, solid waste trucks, and off-road equipment.

"Leading the current team to become the best professional technicians by offering better training and a modern skill set will allow us to be more efficient and effective in our service delivery.”
