CHARLESTON, WV – Clay Chandler, the executive director for West Virginia’s Fleet Management Office, resigned from his position on August 10. Government Fleet spoke with Diane Holley-Brown, Communications Director for the Department of Administration, about his departure, saying that that the Department is currently looking for his replacement. She added that fleet management operations will continue with the current staff until the department finds a replacement.

The Fleet Management Office provides oversight of 6,509 light-duty vehicles. The State’s fleet also has an additional 21,600 heavy-duty/specialty vehicles, though they are managed separately. According to a recent Government Fleet article on State fleet management, under Chandler’s leadership, West Virginia had been in the process of transitioning management of its fleet maintenance and repair operations to a fleet management company.
