PHILADELPHIA – The City of Philadelphia placed an order for 21 fire engines from KME Kovatch, according to the company. The company said it will deliver the apparatus in early 2012. The order includes 19 engines and 2 engines with elevated water towers built on KME’s Severe Service Predator chassis.

The company said the engines feature a stainless steel fire body, 500-gallon water tank, and 1,500 gpm pump. Two of the units include a 50-ft. elevated water tower. These engines are similar to four trucks delivered by KME in 2009, the company stated.
