The M12 Smoldering Iron is the first lithium-powered soldering solution, according to Milwaukee Tool. It heats quickly, reaching operational temperature in 18 seconds, minimizing downtime between applications.

Utilizing Redlink Plus Intelligence, the tool monitors the temperature of the tip to power through demanding applications and prevents against overheating or damaging wires. A heat indicator notifies users when the tool is ready to use and safe to store. When turned on, the status LED blinks green to indicate the soldering iron is heating up. When the tool reaches soldering temperature, the light turns solid green. The tip will continue to increase in temperature until it reaches max temp (750 degrees Fahrenheit). When the job is complete and the iron is turned off, the LED will remain red until the tool reaches a temperature where it can be stored.

The M12 Soldering Iron features a 3-stop pivoting head so users can lock the tool in multiple orientations to adapt the tool for the application. The slender design of the tool, paired with this 3-stop pivoting head and an LED work light, provides unmatched access and visibility to solder in confined spaces.

The M12 offers a 90-watt heat output, chisel and pointed interchangeable tips, and a 45-minute run time when used with an M12 Redlithium Compact Battery Pack. The tool is 11.6 inches long and weighs 0.9 lbs. It is covered by a five year warranty.
