John Deere’s 130G, 160G LC, and 180G LC excavators are equipped with Final Tier 4-emission certified engines. The 130G (98 hp), 160G LC (121 hp), and 180G LC (128 hp) feature PowerTech PVS 4.5L engines.

As with other G-Series models, operators don’t have to worry about diesel particulate filter (DPF) cleaning as it still occurs automatically with no impact to machine operation, and can go up to 15,000 hours before ash removal.

The diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank is located near the toolbox of each machine and features an integrated spill guard that drains any DEF spillage outside the machine. It is located near the fuel tank to save time during daily service.

An updated hood improves engine access while still offering excellent visibility. For convenience, the nine-pin diagnostic connector was moved into the cab to reduce diagnostic testing time for technicians. A rear view camera is now standard equipment, improving visibility to the rear of the machine. Inside the cab, a programmable thumb attachment mode is also available and enables operators to program oil flow for thumb attachments with the monitor.

Handrails come standard on all Final Tier 4 G-Series excavator and help maintain contact when climbing the upper structure to service the engine, improving service accessibility and security. An optional light package now includes a hood light.
