The City of Tampa’s fleet is expanding along with its commitment of sustainability with the addition of nine electric vehicles. The EVs will be joining the 90 compressed natural gas-powered garbage trucks and over 30 hybrid vehicles currently in the city's fleet. The electric vehicles were purchased as a part of Mayor Castor’s Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow initiative, with long term plans of moving to 100% electric vehicles by purchasing 10 additional vehicles each year.
