The San Diego County Fleet has been operating in the red for the past three years due to managerial bloat and budget blunders. The placement of that fleet on the top 100 list puts the credibility of the entire list in doubt.

Actually, Tax Payer, San Diego County is projecting it will be $0.4 million in the black at the end of this fiscal year. See page 15 here: http://www.government-fleet.com/fileviewer/1476.aspx. We also checked with the County to verify this information. If they have been operating in the red, they've apparently turned things around so they're not losing money. Fleets can appear on the 100 Best list for reasons such as turning things around.

A complete fabrication of the facts.

  4. 4. Greg Basich [ May 03, 2012 @ 08:30AM ]

That's not any kind of evidence. Do you have any evidence to support your claim?

  5. 5. Tax Payer [ May 10, 2012 @ 06:45AM ]

When a managed competition program projects profits it would stand to reason that it's customers are being over charged. The department has been and continues to be the subject of an audit. The Administration you are crediting with turning the organization around is that same one that created the problems the are "projected" to be solved. Failing to make payrol because those in charge "projected" 100% billable hours combined with lowering the hourly rate is a recipe for disaster and has cost the tax payers millions. This is all a matter of public record.
