The Crowley, La., Police Department will acquire 22 new vehicles in an effort to reduce fleet repair costs and balance the police budget, KATC reported. Crowley City Council approved the lease for the vehicles on Aug. 28.

"If you have police units that cannot respond to an emergency call because they are broken down, well, the public feels vulnerable," Police Chief Jimmy Broussard told KATC.
