The City of Auburn, Maine, is rolling out two new ambulances next week to answer calls, as the city moves away from a private ambulance company that came under fire for delayed responses to emergency calls.

The city will now only use United Ambulance Service if the city's ambulances can't respond to an emergency call.

The delays in response time occurred because UAS covers a wider area that includes the neighboring communities, Fire Chief Frank Roma told WGME.
