ELK GROVE, IL - Jack Gray, fleet manager for the Village of Elk Grove, Ill., will retire Nov. 6, after 32-and-a-half years of service with the community. 

Although retired, Gray will continue to work for the Village of Elk Grove in a part-time capacity as a consultant/advisor. In addition, he will continue to serve as the Village safety director. Gray has served in this capacity for more than 20 years. He plans to remain the president of the Municipal Fleet Managers Association (MFMA), of which he has been a member for more than 15 years. Gray also serves on Ford Motor Company's Police Advisory Board. 

Gray served as the chair of the NAFA Law Enforcement Group (1994-1998), vice chair (1992-1993), secretary, and as a member (1993-1994, 1998-1999).

Aside from his involvement in the fleet industry, Gray served as an elected official (president and trustee) for nine years with the Hampshire, Ill., Fire Protection District, and as a trustee for four years for the Hampshire, Ill., Township government. During his retirement, Gray plans on assisting his wife with a family-owned chemical distribution company, Barson Chemical Co.
