MENLO PARK, CA – Green Earth Technologies has unveiled G-OIL, a totally green biodegradable motor oil guaranteed to protect engines as well as the leading brands, but without the environmental hazards or dependence on foreign oil. Available in a full range of performance levels and viscosities, G-OIL is safe to use in any gasoline, diesel, or hybrid engine. G-OIL is manufactured from tallow acquired from American farmers. Tallow is culled from beef and has been used to make animal feed and soap. G-OIL is made by utilizing a proprietary process that converts tallow from a solid raw material into completely biodegradable motor oil for gasoline and diesel engines, as well as hybrid cars. In fact, G-OIL meets ASTM International’s criteria for the highest rating for biodegradability: Ultimate Biodegradable (2.1 ASTM D-5864). There are no known adverse ecological or biological effects from disposal, swallowing, skin absorption, eye contact, or inhalation, the company said. In the manufacture of traditional petroleum-based motor oil, it takes nearly three barrels of oil to make one barrel of product; whereas Green Earth scientists have developed a way to yield one barrel of product from one barrel of animal fat. It is actually energy neutral, and zero carbon emissions are released into the atmosphere. Green Earth’s commitment to green motor oil doesn’t stop with the product itself. Everything related to G-OIL-including its recyclable packaging, labels, and soy-based inks-is engineered to support environmental responsibility and sustainability. “Our tagline is save the earth, sacrifice nothing, because we offer the highest-quality green products that work just as well if not better than traditional petroleum-based products,” said Dr. Mathew Zuckerman, president, CEO, and cofounder of Green Earth Technologies. “Plus, consumers don’t have to pay a premium for them.” G-OIL launched at the 2007 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), held this week at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas.
