RED BANK, NJ – Red Bank, N.J., officials are preparing to review an updated list of all vehicles owned by the borough, pledging to trim the fleet, according to the Asbury Park Press. The City plans to get rid of gas-guzzlers and replace them with more fuel-efficient vehicles. Red Bank has 95 vehicles, ranging from boats and trailers to fire trucks and police cars.

Take-home cars are provided primarily to department heads and personnel who are on call 24 hours a day. Borough officials said most non-emergency personnel with take-home cars live in the borough or close by.
