OLYMPIA, WA – A Washington state bill is expected to be signed into law that mandates state vehicle fleets use at least 20 percent biodiesel, according to a report on etrucker.com/. State vehicles powered by diesel would have to comply as of June 2009. The bill also mandates that at least two percent of all gasoline sold in the state be ethanol, and that at least two percent of the state’s total diesel sales be biodiesel.
California, Hawaii, Montana, Ohio, and Minnesota also require a certain percentage of fuel to come from alternative sources such as ethanol or biodiesel. However, only Minnesota requires a percentage of each diesel pump purchase to be biodiesel, said etrucker.com.
