SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco is suspending its use of three-wheeled Cushman scooters in response to an accident that left a parking enforcement officer seriously injured, according to the TV station, KRON-4. Mercy Zamora told KRON 4 News she tried to stop her Cushman but the brakes failed. "The vehicle kept going," Zamora said from her hospital bed. "I yelled in my speaker. I yelled as loud I could and the next thing I know the steering wheel is in my stomach." Now San Francisco city officials say they're taking all 75 Cushman vehicles out of service. City maintenance and safety officials will now inspect each Cushman vehicle to decide if they need to be pulled off the road for good, reported KRON-4.
