DAVIE, FL – Officer Kevin Millan is getting widespread community support in his struggle to keep a marked police car in the driveway of his western Davie home, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper. By a unanimous vote, council members adopted a resolution stating that public safety vehicles such as Millan's car, which belongs to the Miami Beach Police Department, are not commercial vehicles. The resolution was in response to the Carlton Ranches Homeowners Association, which has threatened Millan with a suit and fines unless he parks the car in his garage. The association, which has already assessed its owners $350 each as their contributions to a possible suit, considers police cars commercial vehicles.
