SEATTLE – King County (Wash.) has initiated two hybrid vehicle contracts, which will open purchasing power to area jurisdictions. King County will be able to reduce CO2 emissions by an additional 514,000 lbs. each year by replacing 100 conventional fleet vehicles with hybrid sedans. Toyota has allocated 100 hybrid sedans for a mid-summer delivery. Ford will be delivering 15 hybrid Escapes, but the county hopes to receive more.
