KING COUNTY, WA - King County, Wash., has been selected by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for induction into the national Waste Wise Hall of Fame, according to the NAFA Fleet Focus e-mail newsletter. Under the direction of Windell T. Mitchell, King County has added hybrid vehicles to its fleet in an effort to reduce fuel consumption and air pollution. The EPA created the Waste Wise Hall of Fame in 2003 to honor Waste Wise members that have repeatedly won top awards in the program. King County is the first government agency to be inducted.
