JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two ultra low emissions gasoline/electric vehicles have been added to New Jersey City University’s campus fleet. The Department of Facilities & Construction Management – University Fleet Services purchased the two hybrids to replace less fuel-efficient vehicles. The hybrid Toyota Prius is capable of 60 miles per gallon in the city, compared to traditional gas-only vehicles that get approximately 25 miles per gallon. The University plans to purchase more hybrids as older vehicles are replaced.
