A City of Long Beach, Calif., fleet employee died on Sept. 5 following an accident at work. Stevaughn Matthews, garage services attendant, was working on a trailer when it crushed him on Sept. 1.

Matthews, 28, worked in the Fleet Services Bureau and had worked for the city since February. Matthews was very well liked, according to a release from the city.

The City’s Safety Office, in conjunction with the City Attorney’s Office, is continuing to investigate the accident along with the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA).
