Altec Recalls Digger Derrick Trucks for Winch Drum

September 10, 2014

Altec Industries is recalling 67 2010-2012 model-year D2000 and D3000 boom tip winch digger derrick trucks because of faulty winch drums.

The recall affects trucks equipped with winch units manufactured by Tulsa Winch Group (formerly Gear Products). The winch drums might deform or fracture, posing a safety risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported. The recall is set to begin this month.

Altec dealers will inspect and replace the winch drum if necessary, free of charge.

Truck owners can reach Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 602.
