U.S. News & World Report has named the 2015 Ram 1500 the Best Full -Size Truck for the Money. In the site's ranking of vehicle choices, Ram 1500 scored the highest among full-size pickups available to U.S. buyers. Within its class, the Ram 1500 took top honors for its outstanding value and critical acclaim, according to the award's organizers. This is the 2nd year in a row Ram’s half-ton entry has won the award.

"This award from U.S. News Best Cars recognizes the quality and value of our Ram 1500 in what will continue to be a highly competitive segment," said Bob Hegbloom, president and CEO – Ram Truck Brand. "Ram is committed to technology and innovation leadership. Proof of that commitment is a long list of best-in-class titles, including America’s most fuel efficient pickup at 29 mpg."

The rankings are based on an in-depth analysis by U.S. News editors of all published vehicle ratings, reviews, and test drives.

“In addition to being a fully capable full-size pickup truck, reviewers say the 1500 has the smoothest ride in the class and first-class cabin materials that make it feel like a luxury car,” said Jamie Page Deaton, managing editor – U.S. News Best Cars. “The Ram 1500 also has an available diesel engine with plenty of grunt for towing, as well as great fuel economy.”

The Best Cars for the Money methodology combines quality and value data into a composite score. Within each of 21 categories, the vehicle with the highest score is named the Best Car for the Money in that category. Quality is measured by the overall score achieved in the U.S. News car rankings at the time the awards are published. Value is measured by five-year total cost of ownership and the average price paid for the vehicle at the time the awards are published.

The RAM 1500 may get better fuel economy but costs more per mile to operate than base gasoline engines of most manufacturers including RAM. Add the initial price of the diesel option and the value is not all this award implies it is.

I agree with there choice I have been in the repair business for 30 years and drive one myself as do many of my former ford and chevy customers
The current generation of dodge trucks starting in 2009 are with out a doubt the truck to own sounds like Rick has his ford or chevy blinders on

Far cry from my 2003 Ram that gets 10 mpg and can't pull a red ryder wagon behind it.

I believe they are comparing "base" models of the consumer vehicles. Read the last paragraph and you'll see that RAM is the best truck for the money over a period of time (5 years). By changing the parameters of the trucks options, that particular model may not be the best truck. I've owned both Ford F-150 and RAM 1500 base packages. The 1500 is a truck compared to the F-150. If you want something different, buy something different, but RAM is simply the best truck according to the base model testing.
