The East Side Fire District in Idaho, took delivery of a custom-built Lake Assault Boats fireboat, purchasing the boat using cash reserves.
The patrol boat is powered by dual Mercury Verado 300-hp engines with digital throttle, shift, and power steering.
The lightweight boat features a shallow draught, and is able to operate in as little as 12 to 14 inches of water. It is an ideal fit for departments responding to a wide range of water conditions, including flooding.
The Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District in Lake Tahoe, Nev., has taken delivery of a 32-foot fireboat, allowing it to provide fire protection to homes along the lake that are not yet connected to a municipal water system.
