Major league baseball star Steve Garvey will be a keynote speaker at the 2014 Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) in San Diego.

Garvey, who was nicknamed the "Iron Man" for establishing the National League record of playing in 1,207 consecutive games, played for the Los Angeles Dodgers for most of his career. He finished his career with the San Diego Padres, who retired his number in 1989.

Garvey, whose inspirational speech is titled "Bringing out the Greatness In Your Team," will share the traits needed to transform teams to achieve their full potential as champions.

While playing mostly first base, Garvey won the 1974 National League MVP, was named a ten-time All-Star, and holds the NL record for consecutive games played (1,207).

GFX will be held June 2-4 at the San Diego Convention Center. Garvey will deliver his keynote on the morning of June 3.
