CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - A plan to cut costs suggested Corpus Christi eliminate 144 vehicles from its City fleet, about 8 percent of the 1,815 total units. The 144 units will be sold at auction, according to the Caller.

A fleet consultant's plan stated that fleet should keep services in-house, but the City could save money if it shared heavy and specialized equipment across departments. The plan also stated the City reduce average vehicle and equipment age by three to five years.
