The Florida State Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded a contract to Agile Access Control, Inc. for its fleet and self-serve motor pool system, FleetCommander. The award is a response to a 2013 independent study of Florida’s state-wide fleet which identified an opportunity to right-size the fleet and save millions of dollars through initiatives such as vehicle sharing over the next five years. The announcement was made by Agile Access Control, Inc. (Agile).

“This is a win for the tax payers of Florida as well as those that must manage and pay for fleet vehicles,” said Ed Smith President of Agile. “Right-sizing is now achievable and affordable. With the contract in place, including negotiated pricing, those with fleet responsibilities can now have a turn-key, self-service motor pool in under 75 days.” The system is available via My Florida Market Place.

The FDOT contract can be used to purchase the FleetCommander web-based automated motor pool system to help organizations throughout the state efficiently share vehicles, reduce unneeded vehicles, reduce staff time needed to manage state vehicles, and ultimately right-size their fleets. FleetCommander is used by many other government entities including the states of Michigan, Louisiana, and Colorado; the Commonwealth of Kentucky; Forsyth County and Guilford County in North Carolina; and cities such as Boise, Idaho and Chandler, Ariz., to name a few.
