ST. LOUIS - The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is bringing carsharing to Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado and Fort Bragg Army Base in North Carolina through WeCar by Enterprise, according to a release from Enterprise.

Enterprise signed contracts with the Exchange Commands in late summer and early fall of 2011, Lisa Martini, spokesperson for WeCar by Enterprise, stated. The carsharing service is an extension of the company's current rental service contracts at these bases, which were competitively bid.

Vehicles are available for government business through the forts' pool fleets, and available to individual members through on pay-per-use basis. Currently, two WeCar vehicles are located in Fort Carson, four at Fort Bragg, and two at Joint Base Lewis/McCord, according to the Martini.

Enterprise plans to bring WeCar to additional U.S. military bases this year.
