Hall County (Ga.) Sheriff Gerald Couch is proposing having a dealership refurbish patrol vehicles, which would cost about half the price of replacement, according to the Gainesville Times. Couch said the dealership would replace worn parts, drive train, transmission, interior, and even paint, while providing a three-year warranty.

The news source reports that the Sheriff, who has heard refurbishment success stories from other agencies, will present the initiative to the Board of Commissioners.
