BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana’s Governor Bobby Jindal has signed an executive order that limits what State agencies can spend on the acquisition or long-term leasing of new or used vehicles. The order states that no department, agency, or budget unit of the executive branch of the State can spend funds on vehicles without the written approval of the Commissioner of Administration or a specific exemption.

The order doesn’t affect organizations’ ability to use the State vehicle rental contract to conduct official State business. The order will remain in effect through June 30, 2013.
