ANNAPOLIS, MD – The City of Annapolis has outsourced its refuse collection program to a private vendor, Bates Trucking Trash Removal, as part of its 2013-FY budget. The City estimates that outsourcing this program will save residents nearly $1.8 million per year for each year of the seven-year contract.

The City started its new program on Sept. 10 and the contractor will be providing refuse and recycling pickup services once per week. The City cited savings for residents in the form of lower fees and redeployment of staff to sidewalk repairs.
