PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Department of Public Works is closing one of its fleet garages, which houses County motor pool and sheriff’s department vehicles, due to structural problems, according to a news release from the County.

According to the County, since the facility’s inspection in the fall of 2011, engineers have been conducting tests to evaluate the structural soundness of the 82-year old garage. County vehicles will be relocated elsewhere until further notice.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the garage has 335 parking spots for County-owned vehicles.
