BOYNTON BEACH, FL - Boynton Beach City Commissioners agreed to table to plan to privatize refuse collection after hearing pleas from workers at a Commission meeting and determining the sanitation fund would be adequate for the year, according to the Palm Beach Post News.

The Commission voted to give the financial advisory committee a year to determine whether privatization is a good fit.

According to the Commission agenda, other options that staff identified for consideration are a proposal from Waste Management to take over services, developing a bid, piggybacking a contract from another government entity, and maintaining existing services.
