CHANTILLY, VA - Guilford County North Carolina's Board of Commissioners has approved the acquisition of enterprise fleet management technology, according to documents on the County’s website and a news release from Agile Access Control Inc. The County's fleet of 700 vehicles is currently shared by 1,600 drivers.  The County selected the FleetCommander system from Agile and now has a three-year contract with the company. A total of six vendors participated in the RFP process.

Agile said the FleetCommander team is hosting the Web-based fleet management system for Guilford. This solution will also provide self-service motor pool kiosks located throughout the County to provide 24-hour per day access to vehicles by authorized personnel.

The company said it installed and tested the FleetCommander system already, and that the next step is to help the County import legacy data, install the self-service kiosks, and configure the system to match the county's business processes.

Agile said the system automates manual fleet management processes, optimizes the use and maintenance of County vehicles and inventory, streamlines the vehicle reservation process (via self-service kiosks), assists in enforcing vehicle-use policies, and reduced the County’s risk exposure.

Another organization using FleetCommander is Salt Lake City International Airport.
