NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The former fleet manager of the City of New Rochelle’s Central Garage, Richard Fevang, was indicted on 66 counts, including 22 counts of tampering with public records, 22 counts of falsifying business records, and 22 counts of official misconduct, according to a news release from the Westchester County District Attorney’s office. The release said City officials cooperated with the investigation.

According to the news release, the district attorney's office alleges that Fevang personally prepared, and/or directed subordinates, to falsely prepare Competitive Bid Summary Reports in order to steer contracts to the vendors of his choice. Vendors chosen received contracts without going through a legitimate bidding process, alleges the district attorney’s office. Fevang’s next court appearance will be on Sept. 28.

The defendant faces a maximum of seven years in state prison on the top counts of the indictment if found guilty.
