LONG BEACH, CA – The City of Long Beach, Calif., approved a recommendation to have the city manager review City fleet and police fleet vehicle usage by employees as a way to find greater efficiencies. The vote was unanimous, according to City documents. In addition, the recommendation also calls for a review of the City’s employee cell phone policy.

The City document for the recommendation states the reasoning for this review as follows. "As a means to find potential efficiencies in this tough fiscal environment, a review of the City's policies, contracts, and practices associated with the provision and use of cell phones and the city vehicle fleet is prudent."
