LA VERGNE, TN – Mayor Senna Mosley has selected Mike Walker as the City’s new public works director. In this role Walker will oversee fleet management in addition to its infrastructure, including maintenance of streets, water and sewer lines, City mapping, and engineering. Walker retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol after 33 years of service.

“Mike completes our leadership team at City Hall,” said Mosley. “His management skills will certainly enhance the services that the department offers to residents.”

As the Colonel of the State police, Walker managed 899 sworn officers and 125 civilians. He was responsible for preparing budgets exceeding $100 million on behalf of the THP, according to a City statement. He also implemented the federally mandated commercial driver’s license issuance program for Tennessee.

Walker and his family have lived in La Vergne since 2003.
