WASHINGTON - The District of Columbia is expected to provide information about vehicles leased and purchased by the Department of Public Works (DPW) for use by officials and senior level staff on Friday, Feb. 25, according to various news sources.

DC Councilman Tommy Wells sent a letter to the director of the DPW requesting information about each vehicle leased or purchased by the Department for use "by an executive agency or department director, their senior management staff, and the council." The Washington Post posted the letter on its website.

Earlier this week, the media reported that DC Council Chairman Kwame Brown leased two luxury Lincoln Navigators for about $2,000 each per month, according to American University Radio. Brown has apologized and said he will reimburse the district for his share of the lease. He has returned the vehicles to the DWP, according to the news source.
