LITTLE ROCK, AR - Top officials in the Arkansas House of Representatives will no longer commute in state vehicles due to the recent focus on state vehicle use, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

In October 2010, Governor Mike Beebe issued a new executive order detailing which employees will be assigned state vehicles and vacates previous commuter exemptions. In response, departments have already reduced their assigned vehicles, sold some units, or are reevaluating assigned vehicles. As of Nov. 8, Arkansas state agencies had reduced the number of state vehicles by about 350 out of 8,771 units.

According to the Democrat-Gazette, the House sent two of its four vehicles to be sold.
