SINTON, TX - San Patricio County will spend about $253,000 on 10 patrol cars and a truck for its Sheriff's Department fleet, according to the Corpus Christi Caller Times.

The new cars, which will be purchased through a state contract, are expected to cost about $22,000 each and the truck $33,000, Chief Deputy Oscar Rivera told the Times.

The new vehicles are expected in January. Once they are delivered, the sheriff's department will schedule an auction to sell off the old vehicles, Rivera said. The department replaces a portion of the 52-vehicle fleet every year to keep it current, reported the Times.
