MIAMI BEACH, FL - The City of Miami Beach Fleet Management Department recently earned the prestigious Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for meeting its certification standards and qualifications for 2009/2010. According to ASE, only one in three technicians pass exams.

The Blue Seal of Excellence certificate for automotive repair is awarded to private businesses and public sector fleet maintenance departments with at least 75-percent of their technicians ASE-certified in performing diagnosis and repairs and at least one ASE Master Technician in sedan and light truck repair and one in heavy-duty truck repair. Collectively, 12 of Miami Beach's technicians hold 56 ASE certifications.

A full-service fleet facility maintaining approximately 1,200 diverse vehicles and equipment and holding a 97.7-percent vehicle availability rate for 2008/2009, the City of Miami Beach Fleet Department is currently one of the largest city fleets in the country.
