CLOVIS, CA - When the United States Postal Service (USPS) is ready to retrofit its fleet of mail delivery vehicles to run on electric power, Eckhaus Fleet LLC could be one of the companies to help in the conversion.

The USPS has recently notified Eckhaus that it has successfully met the requirements for suppliers of the possible conversion of their Long Life Vehicle (LLV) fleet to electric vehicles.

The USPS maintains the largest civilian vehicle fleet in the world with more than 215,000 vehicles, of which 142,000 are LLVs. The conversion of this fleet will have a major impact on the future of alternative energy in the US and the world.

In gaining supplier status, Eckhaus Fleet combined its management experience with the conversion and engineering expertise of Arizona's REVConversion Company along with the manufacturing capacity of Montana's Fort Peck Tech Services into a winning team. Fort Peck Tech Services is part of the Ft. Peck Assiniboine and Sioux family of companies.

Mark Eckhaus, CEO of Eckhaus Fleet, stated "Not only will this project, when funded, offer major benefits to our country's energy policy, it will provide a number of green technology jobs over multiple states and lay the foundation for our country's alternative energy infrastructure."
