TOLEDO, OH – Mayor Carty Finkbeiner recently announced the City of Toledo will move to consolidate its fleet operations service garages, saving taxpayers around $500,000, reported NBC 24.

The city's division of facility and fleet will close its Spielbusch Garage, but will remain open for refueling purposes only. All other services will be moved to the Imlay Garage where police and fire equipment will be serviced.

Mayor Finkbeiner's office says the restructuring will reduce overtime, saving an estimated $500,000 of taxpayer money. The city will implement three working shifts, giving them the ability to have around the clock service without overtime costs, according to NBC 24.

"This consolidation of our service garages will practically eliminate emergency overtime in Fleet Operations, while improving service to our citizens," said Finkbeiner, as reported by NBC 24.
