BOCA RATON, FL – When Dan Alexander took over as police chief in Boca Raton last July, he was told to check out the department’s rolling stock to see if there was anything that should be added, according to the Boca Raton News. What was missing was an armored vehicle, so Alexander has asked the city to purchase one to go into hot zones and to transport the department’s SWAT team.

The vehicle would ideally hold seven to 15 people. The vehicle will cost around $250,000, but the price could be offset by surplus money in the police account or by a grant.
