OLYMPIA, WA – Following Ford’s decision to discontinue the Taurus, Washington’s motor vehicle buyers are turning to the Chevrolet Impala as the mainstay for state agencies starting next year, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Not only were Tauruses popular, but the price had declined from $15,300 each in 2000 to a discounted rate of $12,400 each this year. In the past three years, the state purchased 748.

“The Fords were just a great deal as fair price,” said Motor Fleet Manager Bryan Bazard as quoted in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. “Most people liked them.”
