FT. WAYNE, IN — Allen County Council member Roy Buskirk has recommended that the county investigate buying vehicles that run on ethanol-based fuel when replacing old cars, according to the Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette. Buskirk said buying cars capable of burning E-85 could save the county money, help the agricultural community, and provide environmental benefits. Bruce Little, county purchasing director, said he has not looked into buying any vehicles that can run on the alternative fuel, according to the Gazette article. Little said he would hesitate to buy vehicles strictly to run on the alternative fuel because of its limited availability. John McGauley, spokesman for the commissioners, said the county would look at E-85 when considering future vehicle purchases.
