SALT LAKE CITY – The Salt Lake County's fleet manager plans to retire this fall after unspecified allegations surfaced and an investigation is launched, according to the Associated Press. Nick Morgan, who has been on paid leave for the past month as the district attorney's office investigated some unspecified allegations pertaining to last year's county car-abuse scandals. Although Morgan plans to retire at the beginning of October, he'll remain on paid leave until that time. County leaders had apparently been considering firing Morgan. County Public Works Director John Patterson said Morgan decided after a pre-termination hearing it would be in his best interest to retire. Patterson said the district attorney's investigation has been concluded and the allegations dropped. He also said the county will soon look for candidates to replace Morgan, according to the Associated Press.
