SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Strategic Sourcing Initiative negotiated with car dealers to lower their prices for pursuit vehicles used by state and local public-safety agencies. Folsom Lake Ford and Coalinga Motors were awarded the one-year contracts. The contracts are projected to save state and local agencies $1.1 million over the next year.

Within strategic sourcing, an organization conducts a detailed analysis of its purchasing patterns, the market conditions and the available suppliers. The organization then uses the information to find the best deals in the marketplace.

The new Ford Crown Victorias will be purchased for a price of $21,465 and the new Chevrolet Impalas will be pur-chased at a price of $16,859.
