The Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification Commission has extended all expiring EVT certifications to Dec. 31 and canceled its EVT nationwide exams on June 4-11. This is to protect everyone involved in the EVT program and to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Additionally, for those certifications that expired in 2018, the commission will allow re-certification exams to be taken until the end of the year. Usually, technicians have two years past the expiration date to take a re-certification exam.

The next nationwide testing date is scheduled for Oct. 14-20.

The EVT Certification Commission has suspended online registration and will be accepting registration via fax or mail only.
