Pottawatomie County, Kan., is soliciting bids for the construction of a new fleet maintenance facility for an estimated cost of $1.98 million. The plan proposes erecting a metal building near the current shop yard that will include offices, a shop area, inventory space, and five bays for vehicle maintenance, The Mercury reported.

The facility was cited in a 2015 space needs assessment as a top priority for the county.
