A former inventory specialist for Washington County, Minn., has been charged with theft and misconduct and is accused of stealing more than $6,000 in automotive parts and tools from the county, the Twin Cities Pioneer Press reported.
In April, a supervisor discovered Richard Erickson, the lone parts specialist, had ordered spark plugs and plug wires for vehicles that didn’t exist in the county fleet. He had ordered them, as well as tires, parts, and tools for his personal use, for a total cost of $6,397.
He is scheduled to appear for a hearing on Oct. 10.
